Job description

Job Title: Lecturer in Electrical Maintenance Engineering

Location: Middlesbrough

Salary: £28,419- £41,874 per annum subject to progression criteria

Full time, permanent, 37 hours per week

Reporting to the curriculum Team Leader within the engineering team

Teachers' pension scheme

864 teaching hours per annum

Job Purpose:

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Lecturer in Electrical Maintenance Engineering to join our Engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape the next generation of Engineering professionals while playing a key role in a thriving academic community.

Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver and manage high-quality, inclusive teaching, learning, and assessment within the field of Electrical Maintenance Engineering.
  2. Provide both practical and theoretical instruction in key areas, such as Electrical Maintenance Engineering.
  3. Support students' academic and personal development, empowering them to reach their full potential.
  4. Design and deliver lesson plans that bridge classroom concepts with real-world applications.
  5. Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the learning experience and address the diverse needs of all students.
  6. Contribute to student recruitment, retention, achievement, and progression by offering personalised guidance and support.
Essential Requirements:
  1. Hold a teaching qualification or are willing to work towards achieving one.
  2. Have at least a Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering.
  3. Hold GCSEs at Grade C / Level 4 or above in English and Mathematics, or equivalent qualifications.
  4. Ideally have an Electrical Maintenance Vocational background.
  5. Ideally have current knowledge and/or experience in teaching one or more areas of Electrical Maintenance Engineering.
  6. Demonstrate an awareness of potential issues within the sector that could affect curriculum delivery.
  7. Have current knowledge and/or experience of career opportunities in the sector for learners aged 16-18 and 19+.
