The School of Law and Criminology is situated in the historic world heritage site of the Old Royal Naval College. The school is home to over 1,700 students, studying on various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Criminology and Law. The school places the student experience at the heart of its approach to teaching and pastoral care and consistently scores extremely well in student satisfaction surveys.

We are looking to recruit a Lecturer in Criminology for a 10-month Maternity cover post. This vacancy offers an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed academic to complement our existing team by making an outstanding contribution to the teaching and research at the School of Law and Criminology at the University of Greenwich.

You will work closely with the dedicated criminology team to continue the School of Law and Criminology’s progress as a center of teaching and research excellence. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver innovative teaching in a range of areas relating to our BSc and MSc Criminology and Criminal Psychology. We are particularly interested in candidates who can lead and teach modules such as Psychology, Development and Crime, Criminal Investigative Psychology, and Social Forensic Psychology. In addition to teaching these subjects, we are also interested in candidates with a developing or established research profile that complements the school’s research interests.

You must be able to demonstrate a strong teaching profile and a proven commitment to the student experience, including supporting students’ wellbeing. A PhD in Criminology or a related field, or an appropriate professional qualification, is essential, as is energy, enthusiasm, and a commitment to play a full and active role in the life of the School of Law and Criminology.
