Birmingham School of Architecture and Design at Birmingham City University is a creative, diverse and interdisciplinary community of students, staff and practitioners exploring sustainable and inclusive design with our city, region and beyond. We are looking for a Lecturer in Architecture and Design to contribute to the teaching of integrated design and resolution studios and be led by research informed practice with a strong emphasis on sustainable and inclusive futures.
We offer several undergraduate Architecture and Design degrees in the School including Parts 1, 2 & 3 RIBA Validated Awards, Interior Architecture and Landscape Architecture. All the programmes enjoy high student satisfaction with an established reputation in the historic Birmingham School of Architecture established in 1908. These posts will principally be responsible for teaching, across BA(Hons) Architecture and/or BA (Hons) Interior Architecture. We encourage applicants with strong experience and research in either discipline.

You will be contributing to the teaching, learning and coordination of the School’s different Architecture programmes across different levels of the undergraduate course, ensuring an excellent student experience through the use of relevant and inspiring learning, teaching, and assessment methods. You will assist with cross School teaching and learning activities such as the CO.LAB live project module, the Experimental Sustainability Studio or Superstudio. You will also provide support and mentoring to individual students through personal tutoring, contribute to the Urban Cultures research cluster, and be involved in recruitment and outreach activities.
