Job description

Chichester College Group have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Lecturer in 14-16 Fresh Start Provision at our Crawley campus. You will join us on a full time, maternity cover basis and in return, we will offer a competitive salary of GBP26,716 - GBP41,659 per annum, plus GBP610 Crawley Weighting Allowance.

37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

The Lecturer in 14-16 Fresh Start Provision role:

This is an exciting opportunity for an inspiring, dynamic and committed Lecturer who has relevant experience of supporting learners who have, up until now, not engaged in mainstream education. You will be creative, experienced and passionate about working with these students aged 14-16 and have the ability to engage and encourage students to participate and develop new skills in an exciting and motivating environment, this will include the delivery of literacy and numeracy.

Key Responsibilities of our Lecturer in 14-16 Fresh Start Provision:

  • To undertake teaching and learning related activities, including tutoring, as agreed.
  • To undertake and support the delivery of Functional Skills Maths, English, Personal Social Education (PSE) and/or ICT.
  • To ensure that appropriate learning materials are prepared and assessments and assignments are undertaken in a timely manner.
  • To undertake administration and provide reports and statistics regarding student and teaching matters.
  • To develop curricula and learning activities, taking into consideration Maths and English development and equality and diversity.
  • To participate in marketing activities and promote the College in a positive way for the purpose of gaining sponsorship, advertising, good public relations and increased recruitment.
  • To participate in student reviews and other relevant meetings to manage the achievement and attendance of students.

Our ideal Lecturer in 14-16 Fresh Start Provision should have the below skills and experience:

  • Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification
  • Relevant industrial/commercial/subject experience
  • Working knowledge of effective behaviour management strategies
  • An understanding of safeguarding vulnerable groups
  • Time management skills, organisational skills and the ability to meet targets and deadlines
