Job Overview

The School of Foundation, Intermediate Learning and Employability at Kingston College is looking to appoint a Lecturer to teach a combination of GCSE Maths and Maths Functional Skills. The GCSE teaching will be predominantly to students aged 16-19 years. For Maths Functional Skills classes, we allocate 2 hours of teaching a week.

Responsibilities
  1. Follow agreed schemes of work and assessment schedules.
  2. Set a minimum of one piece of marked work each class every week, recorded on Pro-Monitor.
  3. Prepare students for June exams, marking homeworks and mock exams.
  4. Monitor student progress and contribute to curriculum development as appropriate.
Qualifications

As our Lecturer, we would like you to hold a degree or relevant professional qualification in an appropriate subject, hold a teaching qualification (or be willing to work towards one), and have excellent teaching skills in GCSE and Functional Skills Mathematics to students aged 16-19 years. We value energy, enthusiasm, and passion for the subject and education, along with the ability to support, motivate, and empathize with learners.

Skills

With high personal standards and expectations, you will have good planning, preparation, organizational, and administrative skills, with good attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure to agreed deadlines.

Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate will be eligible for any increase in salary as a consequence of the annual cost of living review that will be implemented in the new academic year. The benefits package includes generous annual leave of 40 days plus up to 8 additional days over Christmas/New Year, as well as an additional 5 days Wellbeing leave to enhance employees' physical and mental health.
