Successful candidates will have:

1. Degree level qualification in civil engineering (or a closely related subject)
2. Teaching qualification level 5 (or committed to achieving one through funded support with MKC Training)
3. Knowledge of construction industry / civil engineering either through industry experience or industry-based research
4. Expertise in structures, construction methods, design, materials, BIM, REVIT, hydraulics, geotechnics or highways
5. Understanding of Health & Safety in construction
6. Knowledge of sustainable construction methods
7. Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. ICE, IStructE, CIHT or CIOB)
8. EngTech, IEng or CEng status (or intention to apply)
9. An understanding of the work performed by the Royal Engineers (Humanitarian aid, Peace-keeping, Disaster relief etc)
