About you: (the candidate)

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

1. PhD qualified in relevant subject area: developmental, cell and stem cell biology, genetics or genomics in relation to craniofacial biology.
2. Postdoctoral research experience with excellent publication record including evidence of high-quality collaborative research.
3. Clear and ambitious plans for an independent research programme supported by external funding.
4. Experience in and/or strong commitment to excellence in teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level and PhD student supervision including understanding of student needs and how to provide support and guidance.
5. Effective organisation and administrative skills.
6. Excellent communication skills across disciplines to explain complex information effectively, both verbally and in writing, engage different audiences such as students, colleagues and the general public.
7. Commitment to continued professional and team development, research integrity and diversity & inclusion.

1. Evidence of attracting external funding for research.
2. Experience in project management.
3. Higher Education teaching accreditation.
4. Evidence of institutional citizenship.
