Our Service Industries department encompasses Culinary Arts, Hair, Beauty, and Makeup, offering students hands-on, industry-relevant training in real-world working environments. As a Learning Support Mentor, you will play a key role in supporting learners to achieve their goals, fostering their confidence, independence, and success.
Collaborate with lecturers to enhance learning and attainment, ensuring all students feel included and valued.
Support students in accessing the curriculum, fully engaging in learning, and reaching their potential.
Empower young people to achieve personalised learning outcomes, including Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) targets.
Adapt classroom resources to meet individual needs, such as enlarging text or modifying language.
Assist in delivering therapy interventions (e.g., Physiotherapy, Speech & Language Therapy) under professional guidance.
Review student support needs and work directly with them to enhance their educational experience.
Engage in training and development opportunities to continually grow your expertise.
A compassionate, adaptable, and proactive individual who can use their initiative in supporting students.
GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
Experience working with people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is desirable.
A flexible and empathetic approach to working with young people.
