Job description

Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting for Learning Support Assistants / Mentors to join our client SEN specialist transition centre based in Fareham (PO16). The Centre caters for young people aged 14 - 19 year olds with SEMH issues and autism. The centre aims to help transition their learners into full time education or into employment.

CONTRACT DETAILS


Location - Fareham (PO16)
Contract or position start date - ASAP
Full time/part time - Full time
Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate GBP13.96 per hour
Hours - 08:00 - 16:00

Experience, Training and Qualifications:

  • Calming mannerisms in challenging situations.
  • Strong behaviour management skills while creating a fun learning environment.
  • Driven to motivate the pupil and increase his participation.
  • The ability to grow individual personal development.
  • Be caring, patient and have good communication skills.
  • Be self-reflective, have a willingness to learn and demonstrate initiative.
  • Experience supporting an individual with Autism/SEMH.

To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching, you must:

  • Hold right to work in the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
  • Provide two professional child related references.
