Learning Support Assistant

Prospero Teaching are working with a 'Outstanding' Ofsted rated SEN School based in Southampton seeking dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their vibrant team.

This specialist setting caters for children and young people aged 4-11 with Complex Learning Difficulties to include Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties, Speech & Language Difficulties and challenging behaviours.

Your role will include providing support for pupils, teachers, and the school, working within small-class sizes or with pupils on a 1:1 basis offering a therapeutic approach rich in vocational opportunities.

Contract Details:

• Location - Southampton, Hampshire
• Position - Learning Support Assistant
• Type of work - Support Staff
• Contract or position start date - ASAP
• Duration / Likely Duration - Temp/Perm
• Contract type: Temp/Perm
• Full time/part time - Full time
• Minimum rate of pay - From £13.96 per hour
• Hours - 8:45 - 15:15 (30 hours per week)

Experience, Training and Qualifications:

• Level 2 Teaching Assistant or equivalent (preferable)
• GCSEs: English & Maths
• Minimum 6 months experience working with children and young people
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year

Eligibility:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child-related references
