Full-Time Teaching Assistant - Inclusion Unit (Southampton)

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Teaching Assistant to join the Inclusion Unit at a reputable secondary school in Southampton. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work closely with students who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, supporting their academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist teachers in delivering a range of academic and vocational subjects to small groups of students within the Inclusion Unit.
2. Provide tailored support to vulnerable students and those at risk of exclusion, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
3. Collaborate with a dedicated team to develop and implement individualised strategies that promote student engagement and success.

Ideal Candidate:

1. A passionate team player with a strong commitment to inclusion and understanding of the importance of building positive relationships within a school setting.
2. Experience working with young people with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
3. Flexibility and adaptability to support various subjects and activities, including outdoor education, horticulture, animal care, construction, and bicycle maintenance.
