About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a vibrant and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Lewisham. This is a full-time position, providing essential support to students with SEND and additional learning needs. You will play a key role in ensuring that all students can access the curriculum and succeed in their education.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide tailored support to students with SEND in the classroom.
2. Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons.
3. Offer one-to-one and small group support to students.
4. Encourage student confidence and independence in their learning.
5. Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff.
6. Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
7. Promote an inclusive and positive learning environment.

Requirements

1. Previous experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting.
2. Experience supporting students with SEND in a school environment.
3. A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. A positive, patient, and compassionate approach to supporting students.
