Job description

Teaching Personnel is delighted to offer an opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Supervisor to join a specialist educational provision in Bournemouth. This is a part-time, term-time only role that plays a vital part in supporting pupils with special educational needs. If you’re passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning, this position offers a truly rewarding pathway.

The school caters to students with complex needs, primarily social, emotional, and mental health difficulties, and autism spectrum conditions. With a low staff-to-pupil ratio and a nurturing, therapeutic ethos, the school provides a calm and structured environment where pupils feel safe and supported. Each day brings the chance to form meaningful relationships, guide pupils towards positive behaviours, and help them rediscover a love for learning.

As a Learning Supervisor, you will work closely with pupils who require consistent, tailored support. Your day will involve helping to maintain a positive classroom atmosphere, supporting the delivery of structured activities, and guiding students both academically and emotionally. Patience, resilience, and an encouraging presence are essential. You’ll also be working alongside a highly collaborative team who are deeply committed to each student’s growth.

This position would suit someone with experience in education, youth work, or care, or someone simply looking to begin a meaningful career working with children who need a little more support. What matters most is your commitment to making a difference.
