Job description

Our people are hugely important to us at Oak Furnitureland and we have a great opportunity to join our Organisational Development team. This is a field-based role where you’ll be travelling to our stores, working from home, and also coming to our head office in Swindon once a week.
The Learning and Performance Partner role supports the day-to-day operational delivery of the OD strategy by supporting our colleagues in both their learning and development and talent management requirements, enabling the business to meet its people objectives around performance and culture.

You will support the identification of learning and performance needs across each of the business functions by adopting an agile, curious, and inquisitive approach and are responsible for the design, delivery, and evaluation of a full range of learning and development interventions to meet these needs.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide learning and development expertise for the analysis, design, and implementation of OD projects and workstreams that contribute to the delivery of corporate initiatives and business projects.
  2. Design and deliver a wide range of learning content including face-to-face development, virtual training, learning programmes, and Train the Trainer sessions that support the delivery of the HR strategy.
  3. With others (incl. HRBPs), provide advice, guidance, and support to managers and their teams on the identification of local development needs, support in the design of personal development plans where appropriate, and feed into wider organisational requirements.
  4. Deliver OD projects that involve scoping out learning objectives, designing learner plans/pathways (including blended learning), and implementing/maintaining effective content.
  5. Collaboratively work with others to scope out learning objectives aligned to business objectives, design bespoke learner content including blended learning solutions and development pathways, and deliver/maintain content as required.
  6. Support onboarding of new starters through the delivery of corporate, local, and role-specific inductions, including maintenance of programme content and delivery methods.
  7. Work closely with the Digital Learning Designer to understand essential design requirements ensuring that all designed learning content is appropriate and fit for purpose.
  8. Work with stakeholders to evaluate the business impact of learning interventions by monitoring and capturing evidence/feedback that demonstrates achievement of objectives, measuring return on investment/expectation, and making recommendations where necessary.

Skills and Experience

  1. Proven track record in designing and delivering learning and development interventions (in person and or virtually) that drive behavioural and cultural change.
  2. Knowledge and experience in designing and developing impactful blended learning solutions (digital, face-to-face) that improve performance and productivity.
  3. Well-versed in adult learning methodologies and the learning cycle, with current awareness of the latest trends across both Learning and Development and within the field of performance management.
  4. Experienced credible business partner with a demonstrable track record of supporting key stakeholders in the analysis and identification of learning and development requirements, and recommendation and delivery of appropriate learning interventions.
  5. Capable of using coaching and mentoring techniques and developing others.
  6. Experience in working as a training designer for multiple business environments such as Retail, Logistics, Head Office, and Customer Service.
  7. Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build successful relationships with others through demonstration of emotional intelligence.
  8. Any previous experience as a training designer for Retail, Logistics, Customer Service would be ideal.
