Learning Mentor for Children with SEMH Needs

Are you passionate and motivated to make a difference to the lives of children who have experienced childhood trauma and have Social Emotional Mental Health needs?

Have you got experience working with children or adults who have SEND or Social Emotional or Mental Health needs? Have you worked as a support worker or in the care field? Perhaps you have a psychology or education related degree?

Monarch Education are honoured to work alongside a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities setting in the Worcester area. This role will be full time (Mon - Fri) from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., term time only. However, the school will accept part-time hours for the right candidate.

The job…

Working in an alternative provision primary and secondary school for 7 - 17 year old's who have a variety of social, emotional and mental health needs. You will need to enable vulnerable students to regulate their emotions and to model and teach appropriate interactions.

To be considered for the role, you must:

  1. Have experience with SEND children or young adults with Social Emotional or Mental Health needs
  2. Have a professional manner
  3. Have a range of behaviour management strategies
  4. Have a desire to help and nurture children
  5. Build great relationships with staff and children
  6. Be able to work on site and off site, managing behaviours in both areas
