Learning Mentor – Inspiring Opportunity in London

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Location: London
Pay Rate: £95-115 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM

The Job
We are looking for a dedicated and motivated Learning Mentor to join us and work in various schools across London. In this role, you will:

  1. Provide one-on-one and group mentoring support to students, helping them to overcome personal, social, and academic challenges.
  2. Support students in developing key life skills, such as self-confidence, resilience, and emotional well-being.
  3. Work closely with teachers and other staff members to identify students who need additional support and create tailored mentoring plans.
  4. Help students develop strategies for managing stress, building motivation, and improving their focus in the classroom.
  5. Encourage positive behavior and assist in the development of social skills and peer relationships.
  6. Act as a role model, providing guidance and encouragement to help students succeed both inside and outside of the classroom.
  7. Support with small group interventions and deliver workshops on key themes like study skills, emotional regulation, and goal setting.

Could This Be Right For You? Are You…
  1. Qualified (desired): Hold a relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent).
  2. Experienced: Have experience working with children in a classroom or support setting, or a passion for supporting students with additional learning needs.
  3. Skilled: Demonstrate excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and support students of all abilities.
  4. Personable: Patient, adaptable, and empathetic, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.

Desirable Skills:
  1. Experience supporting students with SEN or additional learning needs.
  2. A good understanding of child development and effective learning strategies.
  3. Strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to supporting students.
