Location: Newham, East London
Salary: £140 - £160 per day

We are a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) school based in Newham, committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for our students. Our goal is to support young people with a range of additional needs, ensuring they reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.


The Role as a Learning Mentor

We are seeking a passionate and organised Learning Mentor to join our team. This role is pivotal in supporting the smooth running of student groups, ensuring all pupils receive the best possible educational experience. You will be responsible for coordinating group activities, supporting teachers and support staff, and maintaining clear communication between staff, students, and parents.


Key Responsibilities as a Learning Mentor
  1. Oversee and coordinate student groups, ensuring effective timetabling and resource allocation.
  2. Work closely with teachers and support staff to provide a structured and supportive environment for students.
  3. Act as a key point of contact between parents, staff, and external agencies, ensuring effective communication.
  4. Monitor student progress and well-being, implementing strategies to enhance engagement and learning outcomes.
  5. Assist with the planning and organisation of group activities, outings, and enrichment opportunities.
  6. Ensure all safeguarding policies and procedures are upheld.

The Ideal Candidate for a Behaviour Mentor
  1. Experienced in working within an SEN or educational setting.
  2. Highly organised, with strong administrative and coordination skills.
  3. Passionate about supporting young people with additional needs.
  4. A strong communicator, able to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  5. Able to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  6. Knowledgeable about safeguarding and child protection policies.
