Vetro Social Care is actively seeking experienced Learning Disability Support Workers to work within an award-winning service located in Port Talbot. The service is a bespoke specialist service for people with autistic spectrum conditions and associated complex needs. You will be assisting individuals through a care pathway to help them live as independently as possible.

Overview:

  • Title: Learning Disability Support Worker
  • Location: Port Talbot
  • Job Type: Flexible agency work and block bookings
  • Shifts: Flexible pattern available, pick and choose the shifts you want every week (7:30AM - 8PM / 7:30PM - 8AM sleep)
  • Pay: £12.81 (including holiday pay)
  • Immediate starts available

What you'll be doing as a Learning Disability Support Worker:

You will provide therapeutic care and support to individuals with autistic spectrum conditions and associated complex needs, which includes observing, monitoring, and keeping a record of their conditions, treating each person with dignity, compassion, and honesty. You will help with their progression through a care pathway to live as independently as possible. You will have the full support of a team of multi-disciplinary professionals.

The candidate:

What you'll need to be successful as a Learning Disability Support Worker:

  • A desire to create positive outcomes for young people with learning disabilities
  • Driver with access to own vehicle is desirable
  • Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
  • At least 6 months experience of working within a social care setting
