Learning Centre Assistant
The position of Learning Centre Assistant involves the day-to-day oversight and management of the Learning Centre, aiming to create a supportive and customer-focused environment that facilitates independent learning and research for students. Responsibilities include managing learner behaviour to foster a conducive learning atmosphere, maintaining a visible presence to assist with IT systems, and supporting students with study skills such as research and essay writing. Additionally, the role encompasses administrative tasks related to the Library Management System, including shelving, handling overdue fines, and providing high-level customer service.
The role also extends to providing support across the wider Student Services department, including the provision of status and reference letters as requested, maintaining records, and updating the curriculum administration manager. It involves engaging with students, staff, and parents to address various inquiries and support administrative functions related to student tracking and resource management. The role requires flexibility to work evening shifts during events and a commitment to uphold the college's values and safeguarding procedures, ensuring a discrimination-free environment and promoting student welfare.
