Job description

PIC’s Learning and Development (L&D) team work to ensure employees have the right knowledge, skills and experience to achieve PIC’s goals as well as their individual career goals.

We have a great opportunity for an individual who can effectively collaborate with business areas to secure their buy-in of a learning and high-performance culture that drives engagement and enables PIC to reach its future ambitions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments of current and future learning needs across the company, using qualitative and quantitative data to identify skills gaps and develop actionable plans with a blended learning approach to address these.
  • Design and deliver training and own the L&D annual learning events calendar in line with the L&D Strategy, including Induction events and management essentials programme.
  • Work with internal Subject Matter Experts and third-party training providers to source and co-design training materials that meet the desired business outcomes.
  • Responsible for the annual cycle of compliance training, ensuring updates are made and training is completed by the required deadlines in line with PIC’s regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of all learning events and programmes, critically evaluate the content and make recommendations in driving a continuous improvement culture.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports that demonstrate the impact of learning and make recommendations for how learning can be embedded further.
  • Responsible for the analysis of employee engagement results in defined business areas, ensuring actionable plans are in place to address areas of improvement.
  • Support the L&D Lead with wider HR initiatives as required, e.g. mentoring programmes, adoption of the new Learning Management System and driving self-service, defining career pathways, design and delivery of the performance management framework.

Minimum Requirements

Ideally worked within a financial services environment with experience of industry compliance requirements.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and the latest L&D best practices.
  • Established knowledge of how to develop programmes that align with company goals, promote retention and foster a learning culture.
  • Familiar with various training methods, such as classroom learning, online training, blended and experiential learning.
  • Knowledge of performance management processes and how training supports individual and team performance.
  • Strong understanding of how L&D integrates into broader talent management strategies including: employee engagement and succession planning.
  • Good knowledge of eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate Rise.
  • Experience of designing, delivering, facilitating and evaluating a variety of learning programmes with blended learning techniques.
  • Experience in providing coaching to employees.

Personal Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to conduct engaging presentations and facilitate learning sessions.
  • Ability to work as a trusted advisor, working in partnership with all stakeholders.
  • Ability to work with external training providers and other resources effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple learning initiatives simultaneously ensuring timely delivery from inception to effective completion.
  • Recognised qualification in Learning and Development e.g. CIPD and psychometric testing tools.
