Position Summary:

As a Learning and Development Manager at St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel you will play a pivotal role in ensuring a smooth and effective brand transformation by equipping associates with the skills, knowledge, and mindset needed to embrace the new brand identity. You will design and implement training programmes that align with the brand's vision, values, and service standards while fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence. Training programmes should focus on a variety of topics including product knowledge, company and brand philosophy, health and safety, customer service and leadership skills.

You will be responsible for identifying training and development needs of hotel associates, providing a consistent high standard of training to achieve business goals. The Learning and Development Manager must drive and communicate Marriott and brand values and ensure all training and development activities are strategically linked to the organization's mission and vision to ensure the highest levels of operational quality assurance are achieved.

Responsibilities: Here's what your journey with us entails

Brand Transition Training & Development
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive training strategy to align associates with the new brand identity, culture, and service philosophy.
  • Conduct workshops, e-learning modules, and hands-on training to ensure associates understand the brand's values, customer experience expectations, and operational changes.
Operational & Service Excellence
  • Implement brand-specific guest service training to elevate customer experiences and reinforce the new brand's standards.
  • Establish training programmes for front office, housekeeping, food & beverage, and other operational teams to enhance service consistency.
  • Partner with operational leaders and property leadership to assess if associates demonstrate effective technical and leadership skills. Help to identify performance gaps and work with managers to develop and implement appropriate training to improve performance thus improving quality assurance levels received by guests.
Talent Development & Employee Engagement
  • Develop leadership and career development programmes to upskill associates and support internal career growth.
  • Introduce learning initiatives that enhance associate motivation, retention, and engagement in the new brand environment.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a hotel orientation programme for associates to introduce the company and the culture. Ensure individuals are equipped with the necessary knowledge, skills and confidence to be successful in their role.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
  • Ensure all training programmes comply with industry standards, health & safety regulations, and hotel policies.
  • Track key business indicators (associate and guest satisfaction, retention, and financial results) to determine the effectiveness of current training and development programmes and make adjustments as necessary.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Hospitality Management, Organisational Development, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Learning & Development, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Strong experience in managing training programmes during a brand transformation or rebranding process.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with e-learning platforms, learning management systems (DLZ), and blended learning approaches.
  • Strong leadership and change management capabilities to support associates through transitions.
