We are looking to appoint four dynamic senior leaders who will play a significant role in establishing the newest kura in Tauwharekākaho | Rolleston. We have just appointed two Tumuaki Tuarua (Leader of Curriculum & Leader of Inclusion).
Are you someone who is deeply committed to the best outcomes for every learner and harnessing the infinite potential groups of people can achieve together?
Would you love the opportunity to design, set up and lead a brand new team with a focus on high quality learning and learning design that has the child at the center and deeply engages them with a sense of purpose, responsibility and connectedness to the world?
Then we would love to hear from you.
We envisage there will be four Leaders of Learning, leading either Y0-2, Y3-4, Y5-6 or Y7-8. Initial student numbers may mean we are flexible with the initial setup, which could be two leaders of learning for Y0-3 and two leaders of learning for Y4-8, or something else :)
This kura is scheduled to open in term 1, 2026, and will be a full-primary school. The school is expected to grow rapidly to over 450 students within three years of opening, increasing further in later years. The building will be done in stages, with the first ‘block’ being completed for the beginning of the 2026 school year.
The school has been gifted the name Te Rau Horopito by Mana Whenua and this will help to refine the school’s vision and values. The Leaders of Learning will work alongside the Tumauki, Tumuaki Tuarua, Establishment Board, Mana Whenua, and the community to develop the vision, values, and strategic direction of the school.
