Qualifications

Lead Verification Engineer
Hybrid Working - 2 days per week in the Aberdeen office

Are you an experienced Verification Engineer looking for an exciting new challenge? Join our growing Energy Transition and consultancy team at Bureau Veritas.

The Role


In this varied role, you'll undertake a range of onshore and offshore verification assessments, including 6-12 weeks per year of offshore work. You'll be paid overtime and a disturbance allowance for your offshore work.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct ongoing onshore and offshore examinations and assessments for various offshore installations such as FPSOs, platforms, semi-submersibles, subsea, and onshore terminals.
  • Perform surveys, examinations, maintenance/inspection reviews, and technical audits onshore and offshore against Performance Standards, International Standards, or Client Specifications.
  • Assist in the development and/or implementation of Verification Schemes in accordance with UK legislation.
  • Peer review, supervise, or audit work and reports completed by other engineers.
  • Act as a mentor to less experienced engineers and new employees.
  • If required, act as a focal point for clients or lead a team of engineer, report on budgets and progress statistics.

The Requirements
To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • HNC, HND, or Degree in an engineering discipline, or industry-equivalent, sufficient for the person to carry out the functions of an independent and competent person to meet the requirements of the Safety Case Regulations
  • Engineering experience in Verification / surveyor / engineer / QA/QC /inspection or maintenance roles
  • For Pressure Equipment related Roles in line with UKAS RG2 Qualification Category 2 Requirements
  • Good Understanding of UK Safety Case Legislation, its implementation and interactions
  • Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively communicate at all levels to discuss issues and resolve problems
  • Ability to work simultaneously for multiple projects and clients involving varied technical challenges
  • Offshore & Project Management experience
  • Experience in leading teams
  • Knowledge of safety management systems and certification compliance
  • Able to travel in UK, offshore and internationally to meet our client needs
