Compass UK&I is a leading contract catering company dedicated to creating innovative and user-centric digital solutions. We are seeking a highly skilled Lead UX/UI Designer to join our dynamic team and drive the design of our Digital Food Ordering Solutions. This role is pivotal in shaping our digital platform and through customer research and engagement will be tasked to not only meet, but exceed, the expectations of the UK market. Reporting to the Principal Product Manager and collaborating with our Development Team based in India, the Lead UX/UI Designer will be responsible for leading the design of our digital platforms, focusing on mobile applications, interactive kiosks, and till systems. A strong understanding of UK consumer behaviour is essential, with experience in designing food ordering solutions highly desirable. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our products are innovative, user-friendly, and aligned with business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  1. Take ownership of the design of our digital products, as we bring this process in-house, with a clear focus on enhancing existing solutions to ensure they exceed the expectations of the UK market.
  2. Lead the design and development of user-centric digital solutions, including mobile apps, kiosks, and till systems, with a focus on food ordering systems.
  3. Conduct user research and perform a gap analysis to benchmark our products against UK competitors, identifying areas for improvement. Design enhancements based on research findings and available data.
  4. Collect and incorporate customer feedback throughout the design process to ensure the product meets user needs and preferences.
  5. Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that align with user needs and business objectives.
  6. Conduct user testing and iterate on designs based on feedback and data-driven insights.
  7. Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and other key stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation of designs.
  8. Take the lead within the UX community, helping overseas teams align with UK priorities and expectations.
  9. Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to ensure our designs remain innovative and competitive.
  10. Develop and establish our brand standards, ensuring all designs are consistent, cohesive, and deliver an engaging user experience across all digital platforms.

Skills required:

  1. Significant experience as a UX/UI Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing work on digital solutions, including mobile apps, kiosks, and till systems.
  2. Expertise in conducting user research, creating user personas, user journeys, and site maps to inform design decisions.
  3. Proficiency in design tools such as Figma and other prototyping tools.
  4. Ability to translate concepts into wireframes, click models, and prototypes.
  5. Experience in performing gap analysis to benchmark products against competitors and identify areas for improvement.
  6. Skills in collecting and incorporating customer feedback and conducting user testing to refine and enhance designs.
  7. Experience in designing for cross-platform applications, ensuring a seamless user experience across mobile phones, tablets, and kiosks.
  8. Strong collaborative skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and business stakeholders.
  9. Ability to create and maintain design systems and documentation for development teams.
  10. A collaborative spirit, with a willingness to work closely with cross-functional teams and value others' input and perspectives.
