Quilter has defined User Experience as a key differentiator for its client and adviser propositions. This role will provide the user experience skills to facilitate the business in achieving this ambition.

  • Lead, plan and manage the UX workstream on large scale projects to ensure that the voice of the user is based on research, analytical data, user experience best practice and digital industry expertise
  • Capture and translate business requirements and user needs into innovative digital user experiences
  • Plan and identify project research needs using several user centred design techniques including, external research, persona development, customer testing, and quantitative/qualitative data research
  • Gather UX requirements across small to large change projects balancing the needs of both the end user and business objectives
  • Conduct iterative usability testing sessions remotely or face to face using several tools including eye tracking capabilities and remote testing tools
  • Create presentations, user flows, wireframe specifications, prototypes and other necessary documentation to communicate the recommended user experience to stakeholders and development teams
  • Produce recommendations for optimising existing digital journeys based on research and insight
  • Collaborate with the wider Digital team, development teams and business stakeholders to form user experience solutions
  • Present findings, recommendations, and customer insight to senior decision makers
  • Engage and manage 3rd party developments, overseeing the build for adherence to our UX vision, Digital Experience Standards and non-functional requirements
  • Build a strong view of our users by challenging and improving personas and insight into our customers' needs (clients, financial advisers etc.)
  • Review work, coach, and mentor other UX and digital team members

About You

  • 5+ years' experience in customer journey mapping, UX/UI design, information architecture, wireframing, prototyping and other related UX disciplines
  • Exceptional understanding of user centred design processes, and ability to balance customer needs with business goals in developing first class digital solutions.
  • Experience in designing a full range of digital interfaces, including responsive web design and native mobile apps
  • Excellent knowledge of web analytics and digital metrics and how to use them to drive business value
  • Excellent practical knowledge of relevant design / UX tools, preferably including Figma and Axure
  • Solid experience of usability testing techniques and software
  • Experience in applying accessibility guidelines (WCAG) and inclusive design to the UX process
  • Experience in dealing with stakeholders at all levels, including excellent communication, influencing and presentational skills
  • Experience with both waterfall and agile development processes
  • Outstanding verbal and written communications
  • Financial services knowledge an advantage
