Job description

The Opportunity

Due to project demand, we're looking for a Lead Systems Engineer to join a well-established EPC client in the nuclear sector. As Lead Systems Engineer you'll be supporting the development of diverse electrical and safety systems within a complex engineering environment.

Your duties and responsibilities will be:
  1. Produce, review, and update system documentation for a variety of diverse systems (ranging from electrical to hydrogen detection), including: Operator instructions, Human-machine interface (HMI) design, Safety and environmental specifications, Control logic design, Periodic testing documentation
  2. Ensure documentation and designs comply with engineering rules, methodologies, quality standards, and digital tools
  3. Manage technical interfaces with other disciplines involved in radioprotection equipment contracts
  4. Oversee system design and operation throughout the EPR lifecycle (design, construction, commissioning) in line with regulatory and safety requirements.
  5. Integrate mechanical diagrams, functional diagrams, and 3D models into the relevant tools and systems
  6. Handle modification requests from engineering teams—validate, challenge, and coordinate implementation based on feasibility and coherence.
  7. Participate in experience sharing (OPEX) activities, incorporating feedback and lessons learned from other projects.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
  1. Background in electrical, systems, or process engineering
  2. Experience in nuclear or oil & gas sectors
  3. Familiarity with RCC-E technical regulations and electrical reference standards such as NFC15-100, NF C 13-200, BS7671, and IEC 60909
  4. Understanding of instrumentation, radioprotection equipment, or experience in design, procurement, testing, or installation in a regulated environment.
  5. Strong documentation, coordination, and interface management skills.

The setting for the role:

Risks and Hazards are in line with working on a nuclear licenced site. These can include, nuclear fuel, radiation, chemicals and gasses, high voltage equipment, moving vehicles, flammable materials, high pressure circuits, steam, high noise and vibration levels. A full site induction will be provided and all safety requirements must be adhered to when entering the site.
