Description

Gordon Murray Automotive is a UK-based global luxury brand dedicated to creating and manufacturing the world's greatest driving cars. These ultra-exclusive cars are engineered and designed without compromise to provide unrivalled driving experiences and driver-centric connection.

As Lead Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and reporting quality of product through all phases of vehicle build.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as liaison with Manufacturing Engineering and the Design Office, confirming critical & significant product characteristics and process definition & parameters and managing any quality issues arising from parts or processes.
  • Provide leadership to a diverse team of multi-disciplined Supplier Quality Engineers (SQE's) with a focus to achieve Project milestones for supplier quality activities within agreed target time frames.
  • Define and develop the objectives and KPIs for the Department.
  • Manage all supplier quality activity.
  • Utilise the PPAP tracker to feed back to the business on progress and any potential concerns.
  • Manage mitigation activities with supplier to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Manage all supplier quality related contract activities and sign off.
  • Ensure the correct KPIs with the SQE's are being reported.
  • Review component quality plans are in place.
  • Act as point of escalation for unresolved and complex supplier concerns.
  • Manage supplier audit and nomination activity.
  • Manage supplier charge back activity.
  • Mentor Senior Supplier Quality Engineers.
  • Manage DFM sign off from SQE point of view.
  • Manage supplier charge back activity and ensure all open concerns are resolved.
  • Manage supplier concerns and concession activity.
  • Manage new model launch supplier activities.
  • Review all activities with the Quality Director.
  • Liaise with peers in other departments.
  • Manage change control points for new design and cut-in points with supplier base.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)
  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of ISO9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016.
  • Understanding of ISO14001.
  • Metrology, Inspection Methods and Equipment including measurement arm experience.
  • Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment.
  • Planning and prioritizing of activities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Ability to present data effectively.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety practices.
  • Organised, persuasive, resourceful, flexible, ambitious, self-directing, passion for delivering objectives, comfortable challenging existing processes.
  • Clear and effective communication skills with internal and external clients.
