Lead Software Tester – Playwright / C# - £(Apply online only) per day - Outside IR35 – 6 months - Remote

Overview:
We are currently partnered with a market-leading financial services organisation who are seeking an experienced Lead Software Tester to join on an initial 6-month contract. This is a hands-on, technical role offering an excellent opportunity to lead automation efforts and contribute to high-quality software delivery. As a Lead Software Tester, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring all applications meet the highest standards of functionality, performance, and reliability. You’ll be at the forefront of test automation initiatives, applying your technical expertise to improve processes and outcomes.

Role & Responsibilities:

1. Lead the technical implementation of automated tests using Playwright. Ensure the framework is robust, scalable, and efficient for long-term use.
2. Perform API testing and web application testing.
3. Structure and manage automation test frameworks while balancing manual testing where appropriate.
4. Develop and implement a comprehensive test strategy that balances automation and manual testing to ensure thorough coverage.
5. Work closely with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to define testing requirements and ensure test cases align with business objectives.
6. Implement best practices in testing and quality assurance, mentoring team members where necessary.

Essential Skills & Experience:

1. Hands-on technical expertise in Playwright and C# including hands-on development of automated tests.
2. Comprehensive knowledge of testing RESTful APIs and dynamic web applications across multiple environments.
3. Expertise in structuring automation frameworks that are maintainable and reusable, with a focus on scalability.
4. Experience in leading automation testing initiatives.
5. A clear ability to guide the technical implementation of automation testing, setting standards and driving improvement initiatives.
