Job Description (Lead Service Designer- 6 months- hybrid Cardiff - 305 inside IR35)

Our client is seeking an experienced Service Designer to work on a hybrid basis, predominantly remote with some occasional travel to Cardiff.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

1. Educated to Master's level or equivalent qualification/experience.
2. Evidence of continuous professional development.
3. Practitioner of Agile working with multi-disciplinary teams.

Desirable

1. Working knowledge of the NHS or the Health sector.
2. Understanding and knowledge of health service terminology and information requirements.
3. Knowledge of DHCW and how it supports the NHS.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Experience

1. Significant experience of working in a service designer role.
2. Experience applying highly developed specialised knowledge, supported by pertinent theoretical knowledge and applicable practical experience, across a range of work methods and practices.
3. Proven experience in the analysis and design development of digital systems.
4. Experience in coaching and mentoring staff; specifically agile and multi-disciplinary teams.
5. Experience of leading the delivery of complex service and product design projects.
6. Experience of delivering quality design work.
7. Understand supporting systems and organisational structures.
8. Experience of designing new services.
9. A strong understanding of user-centred design.
10. Experience of managing and leading teams.

Skills and Attributes

1. Ability to manage and motivate staff by contributing to and identifying training needs.
2. Ability to learn and assess new technologies quickly, understanding their wider implications and where appropriate implementing them.
3. Ability to organise own work and manage a team effectively.

5. Implement change management methodology within team environment.
6. Ability to analyse and resolve complex issues.
7. In depth understanding of the information and service delivery needs of NHS Wales.

9. The ability to synthesise research into concrete recommendations and communicate them to business audiences.
10. Ability to establish good working relationships.
11. Welsh Skills are desirable levels 1 to 5 in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in Welsh.
