Are you a Registered Veterinary Nurse ready to take on a new challenge? Purovets is offering an excellent opportunity for a confident and experienced Veterinary Nurse to lead a dedicated nursing team at a modern, well-established veterinary practice in Hertfordshire.


Our client, a respected group of three veterinary practices, is looking for a Lead Veterinary Nurse to join their team at one of their busy Hertfordshire locations. Conveniently located just minutes from junction 24 of the M25 and a short walk from the train station with direct access to London, this practice offers both excellent facilities and an easy commute.


You will be working with a skilled team that includes 2.5 full-time equivalent Vets, 2 Registered Veterinary Nurses, a Student Veterinary Nurse, and a Client Care team. The practice features modern, well-maintained facilities, including separate waiting and kennelling areas for dogs and cats, full surgical and dental suites, X-ray, Ultrasound, ECG, and in-house blood testing.


The practice is proud to be accredited as a Silver level Cat Friendly Clinic and a member of the ISFM. With a varied caseload, the practice is equipped to manage most cases on-site, supported by a nearby hospital when needed. The team values collaboration, offering you the opportunity to develop your own areas of interest while working alongside dedicated professionals.


In this key leadership role, you will be responsible for maintaining high clinical standards and ensuring that patients receive the best possible care from a nursing perspective. The role is predominantly clinical (95%), with a small portion dedicated to administrative duties (5%). Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering a positive, efficient working environment and enhancing patient and client care, all while contributing to the growth and success of the practice.


The successful candidate will need to have 1-2 years of experience as a Registered Veterinary Nurse post-RCVS registration. While previous line management experience is desirable, they are also open to supporting an RVN who is eager to step into a leadership role for the first time.

The Rota:


• Full time role - 42 hour week made up of 5 x 8 hour shifts

• 1:4 Saturdays (8.30am - 4.30pm)

• There is also a 1:9 Sundays at their hospital which is paid extra
