Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an exceptional individual to join the existing Lead Radiographer for general x-ray at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As part of the Radiology Senior Team, you will be an outstanding and experienced radiographer with an intrinsic vision working within a dynamic and innovative Department.

Demonstrating professional and clinical leadership, the successful candidate will work closely with the Radiology Deputy Head of Service and Consultant Radiologists to provide a high quality, patient-focused general x-ray service.

Demonstrating professional and clinical leadership, the successful candidate will work closely with the Radiology Operational Manager and Consultant Radiologists to provide a high quality, patient focused clinical General X-ray Service. You will be responsible for a 24-hour/7 day week General X-ray service, and will lead and co-ordinate the clinical, managerial and Quality requirements of the service.

Proven experience operating within a complex environment at a senior level, with strong influential and engagement skills across the multidisciplinary team are essential to this role. You will have a flexible and professional approach, demonstrating good organisational and time management, together with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The ability to remain calm and manage unexpected demands is critical to this role.

With the skills to identify appropriate learning and development opportunities for staff, you will work collaboratively with other Clinical Leads to understand service requirements and management of capacity and demand.

We have excellent facilities across five sites. The service covers a wide range of patients including Inpatients, emergency, Outpatient and Direct referrals. Theatre and Ward radiography is also performed on the three main sites.

Essential criteria
  • Senior Radiographer with post registration and speciality radiology experience.
  • Can demonstrate the ability to undertake 24 hour responsibility for the department.
  • Demonstrates Radiology expertise.
  • Evidence of change management experience.
  • Evidence of involvement and leadership in teaching and mentorship.
  • Evidence of involvement in clinical governance agenda.
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Be conversant with current professional issues related to radiography.
  • Ability to provide relevant advice to junior staff on a variety of management and clinical issues.
  • Able to promote equality, diversity and rights.
  • Fully aware of principles of infection control.
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience of budgetary management.
  • Previous experience of complaints handling.

Qualifications/Training

  • DCR or BSc Diagnostic Radiography.
