Job description

Lead Digital Product Manager – Legal Services
£63,000 - £74,000 plus excellent benefits (Work Level 5)
Manchester city centre (hybrid working) spending a minimum of 2 days per month working from the office
We’re open to applications from candidates who may require flexible working arrangements. There’ll be an opportunity to discuss your flexible working requirements during the interview process, and at offer stage.

Please be aware Co-op does not offer visa sponsorship for this opportunity.
We’re looking for a Lead Product Manager to join our Legal Services team. This team owns the technologies that power our thriving Legal Services business. As a Lead Product Manager at Co-op, you’ll report into a Principal Product Manager and be responsible for the re-platform of our core colleague systems, the introduction of new services for 3rd party partners, and optimisation of our existing technology estate.
This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative and supportive team and play a big part in modernising our legal services platform.

What you’ll do

  1. Lead a multidisciplinary team to define, prioritise, deliver, test, and maintain features and services.
  2. Define and drive a clear product strategy that aligns with business objectives and user needs.
  3. Support the team and third parties in the delivery of our re-platform to ensure user needs are defined and met.
  4. Effectively communicate to ensure a shared understanding of your work across internal and external partners.
  5. Define clear success criteria and measurable metrics to track product performance, inform decision-making, and drive continuous improvement.
  6. Actively take part in our community of practice sessions, sharing your skills, knowledge, and experience with your colleagues.

This role would suit people who have

  1. Experience as a Lead Product Owner, Lead Product Manager or Lead Business Analyst.
  2. Experience working in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies. Given the transformational nature of the re-platform, some elements still follow a Waterfall approach, with a long-term goal of transitioning to a more iterative way of working in line with the rest of our product teams.
  3. Experience working with both internal and external partners (e.g., running collaborative workshops).
  4. Good communication skills, with the ability to translate technical language for a non-technical audience.

We know that some candidates are less likely to apply for a role if they don’t meet all the criteria in the job description. At Co-op, we're committed to building a diverse and inclusive working environment, so if you'd like to apply for this role but your experience doesn't quite meet every point, we'd still encourage you to apply. You may be just the right candidate for the job or other roles we have available.

Why Co-op?

If you’ve got the skills and experience we’re looking for, we can offer you a competitive salary and great benefits package which includes 30% off Co-op branded products in our food stores (as well as other discounts on Co-op products and services). You’ll also get:

  1. 28 days holiday plus bank holidays.
  2. A pension with up to 10% employer contributions.
  3. Access to a subsidised onsite gym (at our Manchester HQ).
  4. Reforge – full access to world-leading product management resources.
  5. Coaching and training to support your career development.
  6. Wagestream – a money management app that gives you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it.
  7. Grocery Aid – 24/7 access to a range of emotional, financial, and practical support services for you and your family.

Building an inclusive work environment

At Co-op, we’re proud to do things a different way. As one of the world’s largest co-operatives, owned by millions of members, community is at the heart of what we do. We'll ask whether you’d like to be considered under the Disability Confident scheme when you apply.

If we invite you to take part in the recruitment process for any of our jobs, we’ll ask you if you need any reasonable adjustments to enable you to participate.
