Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior specialised Echo Cardiac Physiologist, who is exceptionally motivated, highly skilled and an excellent communicator to join our enthusiastic, supportive and progressive team as Lead Physiologist for Echocardiography for ABUHB.
Clinical Physiology BSc degree combined with appropriate technical training and Echocardiography accreditation (BSE, EACVI or equivalent) are mandatory for this position.
We cover four main Hospital sites, Grange University Hospital, Royal Gwent Hospital, Nevill Hall Hospital and Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr in addition to clinics in other eLGH hospital sites.
At ABUHB, we take immense pride in the exceptional physiology-led clinics and our physiology-led stress echocardiography service. Furthermore, we have ensured growth and training in our bubble, LVO and ACHD clinics, reflecting our commitment to addressing diverse patient needs and staff development. We have a dedicated Echo Educator who oversees the training of trainee echo physiologists', STP students, Registrars and the echo training for ITU personnel.

The Grange University Hospital will be the main base for this role but the candidate will be expected to partake in a rotation across all ABUHB sites.
Candidates will be expected to demonstrate a solid foundation of previous managerial experience and leading a team.
The post-holder will be working closely with the Clinical Lead for cardiac ultrasound. Lead the Echo Physiology team in support of our 14 Consultant Cardiologists with sub-speciality interests in Imaging (TTE, TOE, Stress echo, Cardiac CT, CMR, MIBI), Heart failure, coronary intervention and anti-brady pacing/complex device implantation/extraction.
