Job description

About Arena.online, Patch And Arena Flowers

Arena.online is a young digital business that specialises in the delivery of flowers, plants and gifts. The company’s consumer division includes Patch plants and Arena flowers and, along with other brands it is in the process of developing, has ambitions to be leaders in each of its online markets within 3-5 years. The business has a renewed focus on its consumer portfolio since Patch joined the Arena team in 2023. This is a key strand of the wider business’ strategy with resources and great people behind it.

Patch is a modern plant shop, for modern plant people. Founded in 2016, Patch helps you discover the best plants for your space, delivers them to your door and helps you look after them. Having attracted over 500k customers with a 4.8/5 rating on Trustpilot and 300k plant fans on Instagram, we have regularly been named the best plant delivery service by Good Housekeeping.

Founded in 2006, Arena Flowers is the UK’s most ethical florist, building a market-leading reputation for quality and ethics, recognised by the Ethical Company Index as number one in our industry for the last ten years in a row.

What’s the opportunity?

We are looking for an experienced photography and video professional to join our expanding team. You’ll be the in-house talent across stills and motion for our consumer brands, working closely with our Creative Lead to develop and refine the visual output for these brands.

This is an opportunity to help shape our imagery across a number of ambitious and exciting consumer brands, including Arena Flowers and Patch plants, as they grow over the coming years. Working in-house in our Droitwich studio, you’ll be the Consumer team’s go-to for best in class still and moving image content across these growing brands.

We’re a tightly knit cross-functional team, so you’ll have an opportunity to work closely with a range of teams and to collaborate across varied projects. As part of the in-house imagery team based in our Droitwich head office, you’ll also be working closely with the Lead Photographer - Commercial, who works on our business facing accounts, and other members of the creative, production and operations teams. You’ll report into the Creative Lead and will work closely with the wider consumer team, who are based in our London office.

You’ll need a strong background in photography and videography, both in studio and on location. Lifestyle brand experience is a plus. You’ll be unphased by studio management, shoot production, post production and asset management. Confident in working closely with key stakeholders and in pursuing independent research to keep us at the forefront of our industries, you will be someone who has a strong grounding in the fundamentals of the role and is keen to grow.

Reporting into our Creative Lead, you will work with the full team including Digital Marketing, eCommerce, Retail and Product to help develop and advance the brands during this exciting period.

This is your chance to join a dedicated team on an exciting roster of brands, looking at heritage industries in a completely new way.

  2. Production: You will be responsible for studio workflow for your brands across sample management, shoot organisation and post production, ensuring all touchpoints are met and workflow improvements actioned as necessary.
  3. Post production: You have strong experience in retouch and video post production, ensuring assets you produce are of the highest quality and in line with brand guidelines.
  4. Asset management: You will be responsible for ensuring that asset management systems are organised, easy to navigate and up to date.
  5. Collaboration: You will be skilled at cross functional communication and collaboration, working with a wide range of stakeholders with diverse requirements.
  6. Style guides: Alongside the Creative Lead, you will create and update imagery style guides for our brands as required.
  7. Independent research: You are passionate about imagery and brands and will be constantly on the look out for what’s new in our markets and the wider landscape - and confident in sharing your discoveries.
  8. Maintain and update equipment: Alongside the Lead Photographer - Commercial, you will ensure all studio equipment is well maintained and advise on any updates required.

What experience, skills and traits do I need?

  1. Minimum 3 years experience in professional studio / location photography and videography. Experience shooting with lifestyle brands is a bonus.
  2. In depth knowledge and understanding of studio and location lighting techniques.
