Job description

An amazing new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Lead Nurse to work in an exceptional mental health hospital based in the South West London area. You will be working for one of UK's leading health care providers.

This is one of the country's leading mental health treatment centres, providing fast access to high quality treatment for various conditions, including addictions, depression, anxiety, stress, and eating disorders.

To be considered for this position, you must be qualified as an RMN or RNLD Nurse with a current active NMC Pin.

As a Lead Nurse, your key responsibilities include:

  • Provide specialist clinical knowledge, expertise, and support to the nursing team and wider MDT.
  • Oversee the clinical and care needs of all service users, supporting the primary nurses in working with patients, their families, community teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure that proactive clinical risk assessment and management are at the centre of planning care and interventions with service users and colleagues.
  • Constructively review and challenge nursing practice in the service, leading by example, and providing expert knowledge to the nursing and wider MDT.
  • Provide education and development of Registered Nurses and HCAs, ensuring that baseline needs are met for safe and effective practice.
  • Contribute to the clinical elements of nurse induction, preceptorship, and related professional activities.
  • Provide clinical supervision and reflective practice sessions with Registered Nurses.
  • Undertake competency assessments and supportive practice with Registered Nurses and HCAs.

The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:

  • At least 3 years' experience working within multidisciplinary teams in relevant clinical settings.
  • A clinical leader confident working across organisational boundaries.
  • Experience in leading service development projects.
  • An exceptional communicator who tailors your approach according to individual strengths and needs.
  • Adept at working with colleagues across different disciplines and seniority levels.

The successful Lead Nurse will receive an excellent salary of £50,375 - £56,329 per annum. This exciting position is a permanent full-time role working 38.5 hours a week. In return for your hard work and commitment, you will receive the following generous benefits:
