The salary for this permanent Lead Neuropsychologist/ Clinical Psychologist job is £50,952 - £58,972 per annum.

Main Duties:

  • Leadership and Support: Lead and support the psychology team at the CRC.
  • Direct Psychological Services: Provide direct psychological services to clients and their families at Neuro Rehabilitation Services, including a wide range of assessment procedures.
  • Outpatient Service Development: Develop the outpatient service for non-residential clients requiring clinical psychology.
  • Therapeutic Support: Offer therapeutic support to clients through both group work and individual sessions.
  • Professional Reporting: Prepare detailed professional reports on client assessments and progress, making recommendations for future provision.
  • Supervision: Direct and supervise the clinical work of staff and students within the centre.
  • Training and Consultation: Provide training and consultation to colleagues on the cognitive, emotional, social, and behavioural implications of acquired brain injury. Devise, implement, and monitor strategies to facilitate learning and manage client behaviour.
  • Research Projects: Initiate and engage in formal research projects, with an emphasis on publishing findings.
  • Outcome Analysis and Service Evaluation: Conduct analysis of outcomes and participate in service evaluations.
  • Multidisciplinary Support: Support the CRC General Manager, Head of Clinical Services, the Psychology team, and other multidisciplinary team members as required.
  • Client Suitability Assessment: Advise the CRC General Manager and Head of Clinical Services on the suitability of prospective clients.
  • Representation and Networking: Represent the service at meetings, conferences, and other events, networking and giving presentations as needed.

Requirements of the Lead Neuropsychologist/ Clinical Psychologist:

  • Doctorate level training in clinical psychology or neuropsychology.
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Experience working with individuals with cognitive impairments.
  • Experience using neuropsychological assessments to inform care planning.
  • Experience working with people who have an acquired brain injury or in a neuro-rehabilitation setting.
  • Experience collaborating with staff teams in a residential setting.
  • Experience engaging with families in a therapeutic context.
