Lead Mechanical Engineer

Belcan Workforce Solutions is offering a 12-month contract opportunity for a Lead Mechanical Engineer at the Fife site of a multinational oil and gas corporation. This full-time, on-site position falls within the IR35 framework.

Main Functions

The Lead Mechanical Engineer supervises a team of mechanical engineers, ensuring the design, development, and testing of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery. They ensure work meets company specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements, and facilitate effective communication and execution of engineering tasks.

Tasks and Responsibilities of the Lead Mechanical Engineer

1. Coordinate and facilitate discipline engineering work.
2. Ensure compliance with company specifications and regulatory requirements.
3. Review and comment on contractor and subcontractor work.
4. Manage deviations from technical specifications and maintain logs.
5. Address engineering queries and technical information requests.
6. Keep the Lead Engineer or Engineering Manager updated on progress and issues.
7. Participate in engineering reviews and promote capital efficiency.
8. Support internal engineering initiatives.

Skills and Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
2. Knowledge of design standards, specifications, codes, and safety criteria.
3. Ability to handle tight deadlines and changing priorities.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
5. Fluent in English for technical and business communications.
