The Company: A leading provider of heavy equipment solutions for the rail, construction, and mining industries is looking to hire a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer. This company has a well-established market presence and specializes in designing and manufacturing heavy equipment, including mining machinery, locomotives, and rail-laying equipment.
With a skilled team of engineers, this business provides bespoke, custom-built solutions, ensuring a varied and exciting workload for its engineering team. Their flexible approach to design and manufacture allows them to deliver projects that their competitors may not be able to undertake.
Currently employing around 50 staff, the company has a dedicated team of 8 engineers working across electrical and mechanical design. With ambitious plans for growth and international client acquisition, they are seeking a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the mechanical design team and help drive the business forward.
The Role: As the Lead Mechanical Design Engineer, you will take a leadership role, managing and supporting a team of mechanical designers. You will oversee daily project workloads, approve designs, and ensure all projects meet quality and deadline requirements. With a strong focus on design and problem-solving, the Chief Mechanical Engineer will be the go-to person for technical guidance and project planning.
