Lead Front Office Data Engineer

Cititec Talent has partnered with a leading global commodities trading firm to find a Lead Front Office Data Engineer. In this role, you will be at the forefront of developing and optimising analytics and data solutions that empower traders and analysts to make data-driven decisions.

This is a unique opportunity to work closely with traders and analysts, building high-performance analytics platforms that directly impact trading decisions in oil and agriculture. You will lead the development of scalable data solutions, optimise market data pipelines, and deploy cloud-based analytics models in a dynamic, fast-paced trading environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and enhance analytics platforms by collaborating with traders, analysts, and technology teams to streamline data workflows.
2. Lead development initiatives, facilitating regular stand-ups to drive progress and align with business objectives.
3. Architect and implement scalable data engineering solutions, including analytics dashboards using Tableau, BI, and React.
4. Automate and manage the release of fundamental and market data, ensuring its accuracy, integrity, and accessibility.
5. Integrate and optimise new market data sources, working with third-party vendors to enhance data capabilities.
6. Deploy, maintain, and optimise cloud-based analytics models to ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability in a trading environment.

Key Skills Required:

1. Proven experience leading development within a Front Office trading or commodities environment.
2. Experience with Python programming and strong SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
3. Hands-on experience in building and optimising market data pipelines, analytics tools, and trading applications.
4. Strong knowledge of market data structures, pricing models, market curves, and settlement curves, with a track record of implementing scalable solutions.
5. Experience in data visualisation and developing analytics tools using Tableau, BI, and React.
6. Strong background in cloud-based architectures, API integrations, and deploying models for real-time data processing.
7. Proven ability to design, develop, and maintain high-performance systems in a fast-paced, high-pressure trading environment.
