Lead Delivery Manager

Day Rate: £312 Inside IR35

Duration: 6 Months

Location: Hybrid (Cardiff twice a month)

Drive Excellence in Complex, High-Risk Projects

We are seeking an experienced Lead Delivery Manager to take accountability for the effective delivery of high-risk products, projects, and services in a fast-paced and complex environment. In this key leadership role, you will oversee multidisciplinary teams, coach and mentor senior delivery managers, and act as the main point of escalation. With strong Agile and Lean expertise, you will optimise delivery processes, manage stakeholder relationships, and drive value across diverse initiatives.

What You’ll Do

  1. Leadership & Mentorship: Inspire and guide teams in Agile and Lean practices, acting as a recognised expert and advocate for innovative delivery approaches.
  2. Strategic Planning: Plan and manage complex activities across the product life cycle, identifying dependencies and unblocking issues to ensure successful delivery.
  3. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships, communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, and navigate challenging discussions.
  4. Continuous Improvement: Innovate and refine delivery processes, applying the latest tools and methodologies to enhance team performance.
  5. Budget & Supplier Management: Oversee financial planning, manage supplier relationships, and ensure value for money through effective budget oversight.

What We’re Looking For

  1. Proven experience in delivery management for complex projects and services.
  2. Expertise in Agile and Lean principles, with certifications such as Professional Scrum Master.
  3. Strong ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage priorities in dynamic, high-pressure environments.
  4. Advanced communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  5. A focus on user-centred delivery and maintaining high-quality standards.
