To further develop their platforms, they have an immediate and exciting opening for a Lead Data Engineer to work on a 3-day hybrid model from their London office.

Lead Data Engineer duties will:

1. Design and implement scalable, high-performance data pipelines and infrastructure.
2. Architect efficient database schemas for large geospatial and time-series datasets.
3. Lead the integration of core products to enhance data capabilities.
4. Manage and mentor a team of 2–3 data engineers, fostering growth and collaboration.
5. Provide technical oversight to ensure high-quality, efficient project delivery.
6. Align team projects with broader business objectives.
7. Drive innovation in data engineering practices within the organisation.
8. Collaborate cross-functionally with Technology, Science, and Product teams.

Lead Data Engineer Requirements:

1. Proficiency in Python, AWS, Bash, and PostgreSQL.
2. Strong experience with ETL pipelines, data modelling, and data warehousing.
3. Expertise in designing and managing cloud-based infrastructure.
4. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills for complex data challenges.
5. Proven leadership or mentoring experience in a technical environment.
6. Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
7. Familiarity with big data technologies like Hadoop or Spark (desirable).
8. Knowledge of data governance, security, and visualisation tools like Tableau (desirable).
