The Saga Analytics and Data Science team is growing! We are now ready to recruit a Lead Data Analyst to manage the growing team of Data Analysts who all play a pivotal role in shaping our data strategy across the Saga Brands.
As the Lead Data Analyst, you will be mentoring a team of talented data analysts, up to 6 individuals, and also driving the development of all our analytic solutions. Your primary responsibility will be to harness the power of data to extract meaningful insights, inform strategic decisions, and contribute to the overall success of the organisation.
We work in a hybrid way at Saga both at home and in the office. When you do come into the office, it'll be with a real purpose in mind - to meet with your team, to work together, and of course to socialise and celebrate too!
Role Responsibility
- Team Leadership: Provide team and technical leadership. Manage, mentor and develop a team of data analysts, provide guidance on best practices, foster high-performance culture, and ensure efficient delivery of analytical solutions.
- Data Analysis and Interpretation: Develop and oversee the analysis of large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights relevant to business objectives and customer journeys across our business units.
- Reporting and Visualisation: Develop and deliver clear and impactful reports and visualisations to communicate key findings to stakeholders. Ensure that reports and dashboards are insightful and align with business objectives.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with business stakeholders and technical colleagues to understand analytical requirements and integrate insights into existing workflows & applications. Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical counterparts.
- Data Quality and Governance: Ensure the quality and integrity of data used for analysis, implementing and maintaining data governance best practices. Collaborate with IT and data teams to resolve data quality issues.
- Agile Ways of Working: Demonstrate experience in working in an agile environment, participating in sprint planning, and adapting to changing priorities.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data analytics. Bring the most relevant ones back to SAGA and find ways to implement them to unlock business value.
The Ideal Candidate
You will have already gained experience as an Analytics Manager with both people management skills and dashboarding skills for business growth strategies. You will also need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in statistical analysis and data visualization tools.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex analytical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with analytics tools such as SQL, Python, R, and visualization tools like Tableau.
- Have previously worked in an agile development environment, with a focus on iterative and collaborative project delivery.
- A curious nature, with the drive to learn and master new tech and methods.
- Communication - Working with technical and non-technical counterparts, facilitating effective collaboration and resolution.
- Problem Solving - Analyse complex data challenges, identify solutions and implement effective strategies.
- Project Management - Ability to manage and deliver data engineering projects on time, to high standards.
Desirable:
- Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or Business Analytics.
- Already be seen as a credible Data Analyst Manager with a track record of successful project delivery and team leadership.
- Have established your career around the marketing domain; customer insights, customer life cycle, next best action, consent and retention.
