Job description

Lead Clinical Psychologist or Psychological Therapist
Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust

We offer an exciting opportunity to a clinical psychologist or psychological therapist to undertake two distinct roles:

  • To work as a Cognitive Therapist in our Staff Support and Therapy Services (0.5wte), supporting the mental health needs and recovery of our employees. The post holder will actively contribute to the whole range of service offers provided and support the service's ongoing development.
  • To support the roll out of trauma informed care principles across the trust but with a particular focus on enhancing the trauma sensitive work of our frontline staff across mental health services. This role is a workforce development lead role (0.5wte) and will work alongside our existing post holder.

Main duties of the job
  1. Provide evidence based psychological therapy (specifically cognitive behavioural therapy), making autonomous clinical decisions about own professional practice.
  2. Provide clinical supervision, consultation and advice on psychological therapies and psychological elements of care.
  3. Assist the Team Manager/Clinical Lead with operational duties and service development, including research and development activities.
  4. The post holder will be responsible for supporting the workforce across the Trust, developing and providing high quality Trauma Informed Care training, and learning and development interventions to support the Trust's mission, values, and strategic objectives, including to be recognised as a Trauma Informed Organisation.
  5. The post holder will consult with key stakeholders including those with lived experience of adversity & trauma around trauma training requirement; scope learning opportunities, coordinate and facilitate a train the trainer's model and support online event coordination to share learning.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Doctorate level training in clinical or applied psychology, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical, psychometrics, two or more distinct psychological therapies (one of which must be CBT) and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the BPS, or a BPS Statement of Equivalence.
  • OR Specialist post graduate training to masters level or equivalent in a psychotherapeutic modality (specifically CBT) AND Accreditation from a recognized Psychological Therapy body e.g. BABCP.
  • Leadership training.
  • Teaching (clinical practice) qualification/certificate or equivalent experience.
Experience
  • Experience in relevant mental health setting (including working with complexity).
  • Experience of delivering groups.
  • Experience working within a trauma informed framework.
