Job Role: Senior CAD Technician - Water Sector Projects
Location: Bristol or Exeter (Hybrid working available)

About the role:
Our client, a leading engineering consultancy, is seeking a Lead CAD Technician to join their team, specialising in major projects within the water sector. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex, large-scale projects, alongside a highly skilled team of Engineers and Technicians. The role offers hybrid working, with the flexibility to work from either the Bristol or Exeter offices.

As a Lead CAD Technician, you will work with a range of 2D and 3D software, including Civil 3D and Revit. You will lead a small team of CAD Technicians and have the chance to mentor junior team members on best practices for CAD software. You will also be involved in the preparation of high-quality project drawings and BIM models, collaborating closely with engineers from various disciplines.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing project drawings and BIM models, ensuring compliance with client CAD standards and BIM data requirements.
• Collaborating with multi-disciplinary engineers, consultants, and technicians.
• Managing regional workload plans and ensuring deadlines are met.
• Developing and mentoring junior members of the Digital Design team.
• Working within Common Data Environments (CDEs) and using data management systems such as BIM360 and ProjectWise.

About you:

• Previous experience as a CAD Technician or Senior CAD Technician, ideally with experience in the water sector.
• Proficient in using 3D CAD software such as Civil 3D or Revit.
• Experience working in Common Data Environments (CDEs) and with data management tools like BIM360 or ProjectWise.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Passion for mentoring and developing junior colleagues.
• A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams.
