Working Pattern: Permanent/ Full Time
As the Lead C&I Engineer, you will:
- Have proven capability in an engineering design company / EPCC support role experience
- Provide ownership, input, and guidance in the fundamentals of Control and Instrumentation engineering design and analysis
- Be technically competent in own discipline and actively maintain own competence according to standards and pursue continuous professional development
- Produce, check, and approve deliverables that conform to all applicable industry engineering codes and standards as well as the client’s policies and procedures relative to the equipment being specified. Sound knowledge of relevant commonly used codes therefore required
- Liaise closely with other disciplines to ensure all equipment requirements are addressed in the design, specification of equipment, construction sequencing and commissioning
- Provide value adding knowledge to constructability reviews and take consideration of layout restrictions, ergonomics, safety, utilities, and maintainability
- Generate, check, and approve calculations against design codes and best practice

About You
You’ll have experience of:
- Control and Instrumentation Engineering (Oil & Gas preferred but not essential) in delivery of Control and Instrumentation projects.
- On/offshore FEED and detailed design Control and Instrumentation surveys and sourcing technical understanding. (Preferred but not essential)
- Leading a team of engineers and coordinating work tasks to achieve required plan dates or be a senior / principal engineer looking for a step up in their career.
- Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems.
- Studies, equipment selection reviews, specification, technical bid evaluations and package management of equipment packages in an EPC environment or client role is highly preferred.
- Field Instrument selection and application particularly: Control valves/Shutdown Valves/Pressure Safety Valves/Flowmeters/Pressure Transmitters/Temperature Transmitters/Level Transmitters/Switches/F&G Detectors
- Control system modification, particularly: DCS/PCS/ESD/PSD/PSS/F&G/HIPPS/Metering/UCPs
- Writing/checking/approving system SoW for 3rd party systems vendors listed above.
- Attend software FATs for all system modification listed above.
- Vendor management of all the systems vendors noted above.
- Typical software packages used for Control and Instrumentation engineering design.
- Demonstrable Experience and Knowledge in participating in the below: HAZOP/HAZID and any other PHA/Fault Tree Analysis/LOPA/Risk Assessments/Workshops/Reviews
- Offshore and onshore gas business but similar transferable industries skills will be also considered in lieu of specific O&G experience.
- CE/ATEX and UKCA certification of equipment is essential.
- Detailed understanding of all Engineering disciplines
- Relevant Oil & Gas Industry Codes and Standards

Qualifications
- BSc or equivalent in relevant Engineering Discipline
- Chartered Engineer status preferred
- Significant, demonstrable experience in Detailed Design Engineering and Engineering Checking
- Detailed understanding of all Engineering disciplines
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant Oil & Gas Industry Codes and Standards
- Understand the application of Autodesk Design products
- Competent in the use of MS Office applications
- Survival BOSIET/FOET with CA-EBS & MIST (advantageous)
