Job description

Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Lead C&I Commissioning Engineer on a 6 month contract, based in Fife.


Role Summary


The Asset Management function is a highly specialised engineering services and equipment provider, supporting customers to minimise cost, maximise return and mitigate risk through their asset integrity lifecycle.


We are recruiting exceptional candidates to join our mission in becoming a fully certified Asset Management engineering services provider of both consultancy and integrated projects, across future global low carbon energy and infrastructure markets.


The Plant Performance and Operations team within our Asset Management business area provides support services to the Nuclear & Defence, Process & Energy, Power Generation and Oil & Gas sectors across their whole asset lifecycle. Within this team we have an opening for a Lead C&I Commissioning Engineer to lead the site C&I commissioning on a hydrogen generation project.


  1. Prepare internal and review vendor C&I commissioning and test procedures.
  2. Read & interpret applicable technical information, including drawings, schematics, P&IDs, procedures, manuals, codes, and specifications.
  3. Support as required Site Acceptance Tests.
  4. Conduct detailed equipment, subsystem, Mechanical Completion walk-downs.
  5. Carry out commissioning and testing activities in line with written commissioning procedures.
  6. Ensure all commissioning dossiers are maintained with up-to-date check sheets and commissioning records.
  7. Identify, record, and rectify faults.
  8. Manage and witness vendor activities.

Requirements


The candidate should ideally have a HNC in Control and Instrumentation Engineering or have significant and relevant time-served control and instrumentation commissioning experience with a background in the energy, process or hydrocarbon industry. The position requires experience and an in-depth knowledge of instrumentation installation checks, calibration, loop checking, controls tuning, multiple HMI formats, and communication protocols.


CompEx (Ex01-Ex04) certification would be an advantage. Experience in the C&I commissioning of the following equipment is desirable:


  1. Pressure, temperature, level and flow transmitters
  2. Gas & heat detection systems
  3. Analysers and metering systems
  4. Vendor packages such as air compressors and emergency diesel generators
  5. HVAC
  6. CCTV and PIDS
  7. Local control panels
  8. PLC systems (SCADA, ICSS, SIS, ESD)
  9. PAGA
  10. Proof testing / functional safety
