We’re seeking a technically skilled, highly organised, and creative problem-solver who can seamlessly blend strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.

Salary: Up to £45,000 + Direct Staff Benefits

Responsibilities:

Your work will blend creativity, technical expertise, and strategic thinking to create engaging, resilient, and future-proof visitor experiences.

  • Leading projects, managing budgets, schedules, and procurement while ensuring accessibility and sustainability.
  • Defining and implementing a strategic approach to software, hardware, and control systems across permanent galleries and temporary exhibitions.
  • Specifying and reviewing designs, drawings, and hardware, prototyping new solutions where needed.
  • Procuring and managing AV design and integration services, overseeing installation scopes of work.
  • Collaborating with the Digital Experience Technology Manager to shape a forward-thinking technology strategy, improving compliance and upgrading legacy systems.
  • Line-managing a Systems Developer, identifying work packages to maximise their contribution.
  • Installing, commissioning, and documenting new systems while ensuring maintenance teams are well-trained.
  • Overseeing the storage and management of digital assets, enabling long-term exhibit updates and maintenance.
  • Leading the implementation of asset management and software deployment solutions.
  • Staying ahead of emerging technologies, building relationships with key manufacturers and suppliers.
Collaboration:
  • Working closely with digital and technology teams across the group to share best practices and coordinate joint initiatives.
  • Continuously demonstrate inclusive behaviours, valuing everyone’s contribution, and promoting a culture of openness.
Health and Safety:
  • As a colleague, you will learn about our Health and Safety Policies, procedures and risk assessments, allowing you to take care of your own personal safety and that of others.
  • You may be required to participate in our client’s incident response and business continuity arrangements, helping us ensure the organisation’s preparedness and resilience.
Skills & Knowledge Required:
  • A collaborative, proactive and forward-thinking approach. You will use your good communication skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders, building and maintaining strong working relationships.
  • An ability to solve problems methodically.

  • Strong ICT literacy, with experience across Windows and Mac operating systems.
  • Expertise in networking, including AV distribution over IP (e.g. NDI, Dante).
  • Hands-on experience with control systems such as Q-SYS or Crestron.
  • Excellent written skills, able to produce clear reports and technical documentation.
  • Strong project management abilities, effectively assigning resources to meet deadlines and objectives.
  • Experience managing teams, contractors, and equipment, ensuring smooth project execution.
  • A values-driven approach and passion for contributing to an open and inclusive organisation.
