Job Description:

Are you an experienced Lead App Developer ready to take on technical ownership and provide leadership to our dynamic Application Development team? If so, we want you to join our team at Pets at Home!

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Technical Oversight: Ensure solutions developed by team members are fit for purpose and aligned with our strategic technical direction.
  2. Technical Leadership & Mentoring: Provide guidance, support, and assistance to the Application Development team.
  3. Solution Design & Development: Actively participate in designing and developing complex application solutions.
  4. Technology Roadmapping: Understand and recommend improvements to mobile development best practices and technologies.
  5. Software Development Lifecycle: Define and evolve our agile software development lifecycle and tooling.

About You:

  1. Deep understanding of React Native Software Development and its ecosystem (Typescript, Jest, Redux ToolKit).
  2. Knowledge of Software/Process/Project lifecycles with a strong understanding of Agile practices.
  3. In-depth knowledge of frameworks, patterns, and practices for developing cross-platform mobile applications.
  4. Proven experience in providing leadership and mentoring to a technical team or significant experience as a senior team member.
  5. Customer-oriented approach with a focus on outcomes.
  6. Proven experience engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  7. Experience with CI/CD and managing build pipelines.
  8. Experience developing with multiple major front-end frameworks (Angular, etc.).
  9. Experience with native technologies for iOS and Android (Swift, Kotlin, Java, Objective-C).
  10. Experience working with 3rd party organizations and stakeholders.
  11. Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

Note: This role requires a hybrid working arrangement, with 2 days per week based in our Handforth Support Office.
