Our client, Yamazaki Mazak is a leading global manufacturing company based in Worcester.
This is an excellent opportunity to work for a market leading Machine Tool manufacturer who have been at the forefront of the industry for many years.

Due to increased demand within the department, our client now has a requirement for a Laser Applications Engineer.

Introduction


We are currently recruiting for a Laser Applications Engineer to join UK Sales Support - Applications team.

The role is to provide the expertise required supporting customers, sales team, service and UK sales support colleagues at all levels.

Job Description


  1. Communicate to a high standard to liaise with the Application Manager, sales team, customer and suppliers. Identify level of detail required, time frame, budgets, etc. at the proposal stage.
  2. Planning and preparing customer special cutting demonstrations.
  3. Detailed in depth laser NC control & laser CAM system demonstrations.
  4. Support in answering all telephone enquiries.
  5. Participate in all work carried out in the showroom.
  6. Planning of laser machine demonstrations showcasing the latest laser machine technologies, cutting strategies and partners / supplier technologies.
  7. Planning and proving laser demonstrations for shows & running of shows (national & international).
  8. Support as required with providing laser training for customers (NC control, Programming software & extended operator training).
  9. Ability to manage, prioritise tasks and work within a team.
  10. Identify new technology, relating to the laser machines, options and local supply including programming CAD/CAM, Automation, cutting technologies etc.
  11. Visit customers as required to give technical assistance to Sales & Service.
  12. Deal with difficult situations in a professional manner. Uses own experience and initiative, to bring to a successful conclusion.

The successful candidate can also expect the following:


  1. Company car (EV), mobile phone and laptop will all be provided.

  3. Relevant training will be given where appropriate.

Essential Criteria


  1. Broad CNC laser machining experience.
  2. Knowledge of laser technology and laser CAD/CAM systems.
  3. Experience of laser cutting conditions in varied material types & thicknesses.
  4. Strong problem-solving ability, working within a team and flexible approach to a varied workload.

Desirable Criteria


  1. An engineering qualification to HNC/HND level desirable but not essential.
  2. Completed a Level 3 engineering apprenticeship.
  3. Experience with tube lasers & automation desirable but not essential.
