Position: Laboratory Technician

Work timings: Monday to Friday - 8:30am to 4:30pm

Pay rate: £23,500 per annum - £12.05phr PAYE

Duration: Contract until end of November - Not guaranteed to go perm

Required: 6 Months experience within a similar field

The position of Laboratory Technician is within our Abbott Toxicology Laboratory located at Loughton, Essex. This role will support the preparation of samples and production of results within the analytical section of the laboratory.

This job description will be reviewed periodically and is subject to change by management.

Responsibilities:

1. To support the day-to-day work programme in the laboratory to agreed deadlines and quality standards.
2. To assist in the maintenance and calibration of instrumentation and equipment used in the analytical processes.
3. To assist in the preparation of reagents, calibration standards, and control materials in accordance with the relevant SOPs.
4. To assist in stock control to ensure adequate levels of reagents, chemicals, and consumables are held in stock.
5. To ensure the laboratory is kept clean and tidy to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
6. To assist in administration tasks (e.g. completing record forms, spreadsheets, filing, scanning) to support the laboratory.
